The Sunset Island Festival
Registered Charity No 1018
The Isle of Woman Team have moved forward in a
new direction with the Sunset Island festival. This is to enable
them to keep the money raised by us all on the Island this year
and in years to come.
Money raised on the Island by the
islanders to help the people of the Isle of Man.
So, Isle of Man, it’s all for you now – to benefit local
charities.

CELEBRITY astrologer Russell Grant has agreed to be the
Patron of the Sunset Island festival which this year is raising
money for hospice.
The TV personality, who recently moved to Douglas with his
partner Doug Beaumont is keen to become part of the community
and is looking forward to being involved in the exciting events
planned.

"Belonging to a sharing, caring community means so much to
me. It would be so nice if people, whether well-known or not,
can find the time to donate some special skill or talent to
benefit those who can't help themselves. You only get out of
life what you put into it and this is even more starkly relevant
in an island community where everyone knows one another. As an
Aquarian it has always been important to me to devote as much as
I can to work with others to make where I live a better place
specially for those who aren't as lucky as me. I am thrilled to
be asked to be Patron of the Sunset Island Festival as it will
enable me to join forces with livewires of a like mind to raise
awareness and funds for local charities and good causes - and
to have fun, laughter and make new friends doing it!"
We raised £55,000 last year in a
long weekend and we couldn’t have done it without your help and
support - please join us again!
The local charity chosen to benefit this year is
the Isle Of Man Hospice. The money raised will pay for a
lymphoedema nurse's salary for a year and also general
running costs in Hospice for a year. The focus of the
charity is on breast cancer, however the Hospice Lymphoedema
service currently provides specialised treatment for all
secondary lymphoedema patients i.e lymphoedema occurrung
anywhere in the body due to cancer or its treatments. None of us
know when we may need their help
for ourselves or our families. For more information about
Lymphoedema please see
